Stability and compatibility of cosmetic products

A well-qualified expert ensures that new or modified personal care and cosmetic product meets labeling standards (PAO, shelf life) also that the product’s functionality is not adversely impacted during its intended shelf life and consumer use. Specially designed stability and compatibility tests, depending on the type of product, confirm or exclude the stability of the organoleptic, phys-chem and microbiological quality standards and its compatibility with the original package.

Tests must meet following requirements:

  • Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 Of The European Parliament and of The Council of 30 November 2009 On Cosmetic Products
  • “Guidelines On Stability Testing Of Cosmetic Products, March 2004” (CTFA)
  • cosmetic durability labeling in cohesion with 1223/20009/WE Technical Guide Polish Union of Cosmetics Industry, Warsaw 20 November 2013
  • Practical implementation of Article 6 (1)(c) of the Cosmetics Directive (76/768/EEC) Labelling Of Product Durability: “Period Of Time After Opening”
